Another Federal Government establishment, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), on fire in Abuja

Another Federal Government establishment, the headquarters of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Maitama, Abuja, was in the morning of Wednesday, April 15, gutted by fire.

This is coming just one week after the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAFF) was similarly gutted by fire also in Abuja.

The fire, according to some eyewitnesses, occurred around 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday and was however, put under control by men of the Federal Fire Service after they were alerted.

Speaking on the incident, Registrar-General of the CAC, Abubakar Garba, explained however that there was no loss of documents.

He said that as soon as the fire was noticed, men of the Federal Fire Service were quickly mobilised to put it out.

"It was a minor fire incident at the CAC today which was quickly extinguished by the men of the Fire Service. However, there was no loss of document or lives, he said."

Exactly a week ago, precisely April 8, The Treasury House which is the office of the Accountant General of the Federation in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, went up in flames.


The fire started from around the third floor, razing the building upwards including the Accountant General’s office and most of the important offices.
